OUR LAST DAY IN NAMIBIA

We slept in this morning so that it was warmer when we started on our last game drive in Namibia. Norma opted for a relaxing morning at the lodge watching the waterhole while I went on the drive. Saw some new bird species and watched two young male springbok practicing their fighting skills - butting heads.

Then it was back to the lodge for an early lunch and our plane ride to Windhoek. The ride was rough and made even more exciting as the pilot made a stomach-turning move to avoid crashing into a vulture.

We are back at the Olive Exclusive in an even nicer room than before. Total luxury.

We took the afternoon off to repack our bags, catch up on the blog, and even managed a swim in our private infinity plunge pool. We decided to give Glen an afternoon off and opted not to go on a bird walk this afternoon.

This may be the last chance for an Internet connection so don't worry if you don't hear from us - we may not get it until the end of the trip. I plan to keep writing the blog and will update it when I can.

We leave at 5:45 tomorrow morning to catch a flight to Johannesburg and another flight to Botswana. Once again, we only have a two-hour window to make our connection in J'burg so hope we don't miss the plane. We are offloading some stuff to Glen to lighten our bags as we don't want to have to check them. He will be checking one of his. Norma's nail scissors will be with him. We don't want to be without that necessary tool.

We have loved our time here in Namibia. Namibians are a handsome and friendly people. Those in the tourist industry aim to please and have made us feel welcome everywhere we went. The scenery is stunning and the variety of bird and animal life is astonishing considering it is such an arid country. We will be sad to leave tomorrow but on to the next adventure!
